Wedge Recovery Centers provides Substance Use Services at the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) level of care 1.0 Outpatient (OP) program. The OP program delivers a la carte-style group counseling sessions throughout the week, complimented with individual counseling sessions weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, depending on the needs of the individual. We also offer psychiatric evaluation and medication management for individuals with mental health diagnoses concurrent with substance use disorders. We offer a holistic and individualized approach to treatment with a shared goal of improving the quality of life of the individuals we serve.

In 2016, Wedge was designated an Opioid Use Disorder Center of Excellence by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which utilizes buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone®), buprenorphine (Subutex®), long-term injectable buprenorphine/naloxone (Sublocade®), injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol®), and other medications to support individuals in fighting opioid addiction. Our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) is an outpatient service for adults, and includes group counseling, individual counseling, and case management, as well as induction and maintenance of MAT.  Wedge physicians are also able to provide MAT for women who are pregnant or nursing.

We accept referrals from crisis centers, residential withdrawal management and rehabilitation programs, other community organizations, State and Federal parole and probation, courts and diversionary programs, self-referrals, and others. The individual is referred for treatment, and an intake appointment will generally be available the same or next day, during which a clinical assessment with a counselor occurs, and a level-of-care determination is made.  An individualized treatment plan and schedule of services will be developed at this time, and referrals for MAT, psychiatric evaluation, and other services will be made.

The staff, comprised of counselors, supervisors, nurses, and physicians, are focused on high-quality clinical services, and prioritize engagement and meeting the individual “where they are”.   Staff provide precise reporting and collaboration with referral sources and other supports. Staff are trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions and modalities, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and others.  In 2018, Wedge was designated with a Community Behavioral Health Evidence-based Practice and Innovation Center (EPIC) Evidence-based Practice Designation for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in our Substance Use programs.

Why would someone choose the Wedge for their substance use disorder treatment?

• Wedge provides an environment that nurtures a supportive relationship between the staff and individuals they serve.
• The connection the Wedge continues to build with the community offers individuals a foundation to begin to explore their role within the community.
• Wedge offers support and non-judgmental guidance to individuals in pursuit of their life goals.

Lastly, no one individual’s addiction experience is exactly like another’s experience, so no individual journey to recovery will be exactly the same. The Wedge understands this, and tailors treatment to the needs of each individual, utilizing evidence-based best practices, and a respectful and compassionate approach.
