Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in a related field (i.e., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, etc.)
  2. Two years Mental Health work experience (internships may count).
  3. Strong understanding of and knowledge in psychiatric and behavioral disorders; substance abuse knowledge a plus.
  4. Great “people” skills; someone who is dedicated to and eager to assist our members in becoming more independent and self-reliant.
  5. Knowledge and an understanding of the recovery model.
  6. An ability to multi-task and complete/manage all documentation requirements to ensure State and CBH Compliance Regulations in all clinical charts.
  7. Good computer skills.
  8. A team player.

Full-time Mental Health Therapist
Office Locations: North, Logan & Juniper
Population: Adults, Adolescents & Children
Qualifications

This position can be arranged as a Fee-For-Service (paid per session) or Quota Contract (Salary w/ Benefits) position.

Qualifications
  1. Bilingual capability – Languages spoken include Vietnamese, Khmer (Cambodian), Cantonese Chinese, and Mandarin Chinese.
  2. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (i.e., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, etc.); Master’s Degree is a plus.
  3. A minimum of two years’ work experience in a related field.

D&A Counselor & Counselor Assistant
Office Locations: Frankford, Venango & South
Qualifications
 
D&A COUNSELOR:
 
  1. Master’s Degree in a related field and six months clinical experience facilitating groups and individual therapy sessions working with individuals who had a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency, OR
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and one year clinical experience facilitating groups and individual therapy sessions working with individuals who had a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency, OR
  3. Associate’s Degree in a related field and two years clinical experience facilitating groups and individual therapy sessions working with individuals who had a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency.
  4. Experience working with individuals with Substance Abuse Disorders, as well as co-occurring Mental Illness.
  5. Knowledge of DSM diagnosis, and demonstrated assessment skills, particularly of Substance Abuse symptoms.
  6. Knowledge of various treatment and mutual self-help approaches to Substance Abuse Disorders.
  7. Knowledge of Counseling Theory and its application.
  8. Excellent client engagement skills.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  10. Ability to use a computer, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn the use of databases and Electronic Health Records.
  11. Strong organization skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, managed care environment
 
D&A COUNSELOR ASSISTANT:
 
  1. Candidates for Counselor Assistant will have the educational credentials listed above, but may lack the years of clinical experience
  2. Candidates for Counselor Assistant may lack educational or clinical experience listed above, but must be enrolled in a Behavioral Health degree program, and must complete the degree within 5 years.
Certified Peer Specialist/Decision Support Center (DSC)
CommonGround is a web-based application that helps people prepare to meet with psychiatrists and arrive at the best decisions for treatment and recovery. The Wedge is opening a CommonGound Decision Support Center at our Juniper Street Mental Health Program (REC and Outpatient)

This position provides services to consumers participating in the Decision Support Center within the agency medicine clinic. Responsibilities include providing recovery oriented peer support, assisting the consumer in identifying Personal Medicine, writing Power Statements, completion of the Common Ground Health Report and using various Decisional Aids and Worksheets. This position reports to the Coordinator of the DSC.

Qualifications
  1. Have current certification as a Peer Specialist. This assumes the following qualifications have been met:
  2. A self-identified current or former user of mental health or co-occurring services who can relate to others who are now using those services.
  3. High school diploma or GED
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in reading and writing
  5. Within the last three years has 12 months (not necessarily consecutive) full or part-time paid or volunteer work experience; one year of college or other educational experience (within the last three years) can be substituted for the work experience.
  6. Ability to establish trusting relationships with their peers.
  7. Commitment to recovery, choice, empowerment, and the ability of people with serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders to find meaningful lives in the community.
  8. Have a thorough knowledge of recovery and wellness philosophy and practice.
  9. Have a working knowledge of issues faced by those who experience serious mental illness.
  10. Life experience which increases the awareness of the needs of adults with serious mental illness.
  11. Ability to communicate effective orally and in writing.
  12. Ability to establish effective working relationship with staff, community partners and clients.
  13. Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
  14. Must be able to safely perform essential job functions. The Certified Peer Specialist’s duties also require that he or she be able to do the following:
  15. Sit for at least for one hour at a time
  16. Climb stairs when providing mobile services
  17. Lift up to 20 pounds
  18. Walk 5 city blocks
  19. Navigate public transportation


Essential Job Functions
 Teach and assist participants in developing Power Statements in CommonGround Health Report.
 Teach and assist participants in identifying and using Personal Medicine.
 Teach and assist participants in using Decisional Aid Worksheets.
 Teach and assist participants in completing the Common Ground Report.
 Collaborate with other mental health center staff to facilitate participant’s goal attainment.
 Utilize specific interventions designed to assist participants in meeting his/her recovery goals.
 When needed, be assigned to cover the responsibilities of a Certified Peer Specialist within Wedge’s programs ( Psych Rehab, Mental Health, Substance Abuse Services):


Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker (Full-Time)
Office Locations: Older Adult Recovery Program (North) & Juniper
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of a high school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. For candidates with a high school diploma or Associate’s degree, two years of experience in mental health direct care is required. For a Bachelor’s-degreed candidate, no experience is necessary.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a Recovery-based team-oriented environment.
  4. Will be required to attain Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (CPRP) within two years of employment.
